FC Porto 21 year old defensive midfielder Mikel Agu did his chances of gatecrashing Nigeria’s Olympic team with a strong showing in his first training session with the Nigeria U-23s.

Agu who spent last season on loan with Belgium top division side Club Brugge was handed a one week lifeline by the technical crew of the team beginning from yesterday and he appears to be up for the challenge going by his performance in training yesterday.

He was very lively, always calling for the ball and making good use of it in tight spaces and also displayed some fine long range passes which he successfully completed with ease.

His career have been bedeviled by so many injury setback which has limited his chances and appearances with the first team of FC Porto who currently have four other Nigerians on their books in Musa Yahaya,Fidelis Irhene,Chidozie Awaziem and latest signing Moses John.
