Slovak Champions AS Trencin were beaten 0-1 by visiting Polish side Legia Warszawa in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the UEFA Champions League despite parading all four Nigerians on their books.

Trencin started with as many as four Nigerians in Rabiu Ibrahim, Aliko Bala, Samuel Kalu and Maduka Udeh but their presence failed to inspire the home side to victory at the Stadion Pod Dubnom.

Prolific forward Samuel Kalu who has a goal to his name in the qualifying series in the second round tie against Olimpija of Slovenia fired blank for the entire duration of the game.

Aliko Bala was the only Nigerian substituted in the tie by Trencin who now face an uphill task in the second leg in Poland where they need a victory to progress to the next round of the qualifiers.

A solitary strike from Nemanja Nikolic with 20 minutes left to play settled the game in favour of the Poles ahead of the return leg tie in a week time.
