Highly Rated Nigerian Teen Folorunsho Could Take Onazi Spot At Lazio

Following concerns over the future of Super Eagles midfielder Eddy Onazi, at Serie A side Lazio, his potential exit could provide an opening for relatively unknown Nigerian Michael Folorunsho.

Onazi’s exit from the Italian side looks certain to happen this summer, with reports linking the Nigerian with a move to Turkish and Greek teams although no bid has been formally lodged for his services.

His agent Stephen Makinwa was coy when Owngoalnigeria.com sort to confirm rumours of a reportedly agreed deal with Turkish top division team Trabzonspor, fueling speculations his client could be on his way out of the club.

24 year Onazi has been at Lazio since 2012 but lost his spot in the first team two seasons ago, no thanks to an unfortunate injury picked up during the 2014 World cup in Brazil in Nigeria’s game against France.

Discontented with life as a peripheral player, he is reportedly set to be keen on a move to where he is guarantee playing time, and his likely exit could pave the way for Folorunsho to get the recognition he deserves.

Folorunsho had his breakthrough last season for the Primavera side of the Serie A side, earning positive reviews from the media in Italy for his strong performances in the middle for the Lazio youth side.

He was one of the favourite players of coach Simone Inzaghi, during his stint as coach of the Primavera side before his elevation to the first team.
