PSG,Arsenal, Chelsea Target Asoro Of Sunderland Clarifies – I Am Not Eligible For Nigeria

Sweden Youth international Joel Asoro has clarified that he is not eligible to represent the Nigerian national teams, contrary to several reports in the local media that claimed he has Nigerian blood in his veins.

Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com contact in Sweden, the Sunderland fast rising teen who is well known and respected for his pace and tricks in attack revealed that he qualifies for Sweden and Ghana at senior level.

Asoro came to the attention of Nigerians when manager of Sunderland David Moyes handed him his debut aged against Middlesbrough this season at the age of 17, hereby making him the club’s youngest ever debutant in the Premier League.

He is reportedly being tracked by PSG, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Athletico Madrid aside English Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea who have all watched the speedy teen at various times this season.

The former Manchester United trialist reportedly covers 100m in 11.5 second, and despite his young age, he is a regular for the U23s of the struggling Premier League side.
