The proposed transfer of Nigeria Rio 2016 star Usman Muhammed to a Turkish side has been halted by Portuguese side Uniao da Madeira, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Muhammed played in all of Nigeria’s game at Rio 2016 despite not playing a minute of club football following contractual issues with Uniao da Madeira.
He joined the Portuguese side from local Nigeria League side FC Taraba, but left the team in a cloud due to issues surrounding the payment of his transfer fees and wages.
Despite officially communicating to the club about his desire to cancel his contract with the team, they are yet to officially get back to him, which has now claimed his move to an unnamed Turkish side.
” Musa has been offered a contract by a team in Turkey but Uniao da Madeira are in the possession of his registration, and so far they have refused to release his ITC (International Transfer Certificate)”, a source close to the player told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” We are exploring all available means to cure the impasse, hopefully it will be resolved before the end of this current transfer window”.
