Spanish football giants Barcelona are closing in on a deal for Nigeria U-23 midfielder Usman Mohammed, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Usman has been training with the junior team of the La-Liga side, and his performances is said to have earned him a deal which will be made official by the club soon.
“Usman will join Barcelona before the start of next season insha Allah. The head of Barcelona Professional Phase, that is the man in charge of development of players Pep Segura has given the go ahead for his signing”, his intermediary told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” He is a free player, so no transfer fee will be involved. You know his contract with Uniao Madeira will expire in the summer. Expect an announcement soon shortly after that”.
The impending signing of Usman Mohammed brings to two the number of Nigerian players who have joined the team in six months, but Ezekiel Bassey who earlier joined on loan in January will be released in the summer.
