Newly appointed coach of the national team of South Africa Stuart Baxter has confirmed he will be studying video clips of Nigeria’s last three games before their clash in Uyo on the 10th of June.
Baxter will handle the Bafana Bafana against the Super Eagles in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers, and the coach is leaving no stone unturn in his quest to get a positive result against Nigeria.
The list of 25 players for the encounter is expected to be released this week, but the coach has already started work on the tactics and formation he hopes to use against Nigeria which includes studying videos of their past games.
Baxter who also doubles as coach of Premier South Africa League (PSL) side SuperSports United admitted he hasn’t had enough time to assess the Nigerian team, but he will hopefully start doing so in two days time.
“I’ll have to be 100 percent honest, I haven’t had time because of my commitments here at SuperSport. I haven’t time I have to say,” he said.
“The next two days I’ll take my SuperSport hat off and put my Bafana hat on. It’s not perfect and the preparation will not be perfect.
“But I’ll get the DVDs, I’ll break that down of their last three games. We played them a 2-2 game, I saw that and I’ll get that, I’ll break that down, so we’ll do some preparation.
“But I think the important thing is to get the squad right, get the right sort of squad.”
