Training Report – Iwobi Defies Rohr’s Shooting Instructions To Score Wonder Goal

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi showed the spectators at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo part of the reasons why he is so highly rated with a wonder goal in the Super Eagles training session.

The senior national team of Nigeria held their second training session at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium ahead of their clash against South Africa in the race to be at AFCON 2019.

After their regular drills the players were involved in a shooting exercise which entails coach Gernot Rohr laying the ball for the players to strike, but Iwobi defied the shoot at sight instructions to score a deft goal past goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi.

Akpeyi moved out of his line expecting the forward to hit like every other, but the Arsenal man played a fast one on him by cleverly chipping the ball over the goalkeeper much to the amusement of the spectators at the training ground.

Rohr laughed at the effort, but Akpeyi was left unhappy about it but jokingly it must be said, with Iwobi laughing his way about it, before he was instructed to hit the ball, which he did and this time around Akpeyi gathered easily.
