Portuguese giants FC Porto are yet to yield into pressure from French Ligue 1 side Nantes who are pushing to sign Super Eagles latest debutant Chidozie Awaziem.
Nantes wanted the 20 year old as part of the deal for their head coach Sergio Conceicao to join Porto, wich happened yesterday but a decision has not been reached on Awaziem.
Awaziem made his senior national team debut for Nigeria yesterday in their 0-2 loss to South Africa in the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers in Uyo, and according to his agent Porto are yet to officially yield to Nantes demand.
” For now no progress has been made, hence the deal is not imminent, maybe in the coming days we will know better but for now he is set to resume pre season training with FC Porto”, Babawo Mohammed told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Aside Nantes there are some clubs in Portugal who are also eyeing him but I can’t mention their names for now. If he leaves Porto it will most likely be a loan deal because clubs will struggle to meet his release clause of 20 million euros.
