Super Eagles deputy captain Ogenyi Onazi could return to Itaky after just a season with Trabzonspor in Turkey following interest in his services from Serie A side Fiorentina.
Onazi left Serie A side Lazio for Trabzonspor last summer for a fee in the region of 3.5 million euros, and played 38 games in the Turkish Super Liga with two goals to his name from his role as a defensive midfielder.
However Trabzonspor are thought to be in the process of overhauling their squad and they are willing to listen to offers for the 24 year old despite his fine form last season.
Already talks have commenced between the Turkish side and the Italian side who have been told the hard tackling midfielder will cost them €5m, a fee which they are eager to meet as they believe he will help them fill the void expected to be created with Milan Badelj set to leave this summer.
Onazi’s representative Stephen Makinwa was silent when contacted over the rumours as he failed to pick his line when we reached out to him, and didn’t return the messages sent via social media application WhatsApp.
