Super Eagles chief coach Salisu Yusuf has selected 44 players for camping as Nigeria gear up for the qualifiers of the 2018 CHAN Qualifier tie which will hold between August 11th and 20th later in the year.
Nigeria drew bye in the first round of qualifiers but they will be in action in the second and final round of qualifiers where they are expected to take on the winner of the tie between Togo and Benin Republic.
Former Kano Pillars coach Salisu Yusuf who has been put in charge of the team by Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr to tinker the team which is solely for players playing in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Yusuf who is still mourning the demise of his mother Hajiya Binta Yusuf revealed preparation for the competition will start after the Eid el Fitri celebrations with 44 players already pencilled down.
However the 44 names on his list according to the manager who spoke with Taofeek Babalola of SportingLife will still be trimmed down to a manageable number that would be accommodated by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
