Nigeria international defender Kenneth Omeruo helped a Chelsea XI side packed filled with U-18 players of the club post a clean sheet against fourth tier French side Bergerac Perigord FC.
Omeruo lasted the entire duration of the game which was played in France with Chelsea winning the tie 2-0 courtesy of goals from Harvey St Clair and Benny Ashley-Seal.
Omeruo’s future at Chelsea has been decided already by manager Antonio Conte who has told the 23 year old who has 31 caps for Nigeria that he is not needed, but the club will only sanction an outright sale and not loan as opposed to previous seasons.
The Nigerian has had loan spells with Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alayanspor in recent times, but returned to the club where he has a contract till the summer of 2019 for pre season training, where he has been demoted from the U23s to the U18s.
After captaining the U23s in a pre season friendly, Omeruo was omitted from their squad for their training tour of Berlin, leaving him with no option than to drop to the U18 as he is not part of the first team plans for next season.
