Super Eagles of Nigeria teen forward Victor Osimhen was among the few players who post stellar display for German side Wolfsburg despite the 1-3 defeat they suffered in English Premier League side Newcastle United.

Osimhen was handed a rare start by coach Andries Jonker and the Nigerian who missed their last friendly game against Fulham in England due to visa issues didn’t disappoint.

He won aerial duels and was willing to put his body on the line, with his tricks and pace also helping him draw fouls from the defenders of the newly promoted English Premier League side.

His performance will no doubt help his case of having game time when the German Bundesliga resumes. Last season injuries and fitness issues reduced him to just three appearances in the league after he became eligible to play upon turning 18 in January.

A senior international with Nigeria, he is widely expected to make the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming World Cup 2018 back to back clash against Cameroon next month in Uyo and Yaounde respectively.
