‎Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem was sent off in the 37th minutes for French Ligue 1 side Nantes in their 1-0 win over Troyes in what was his third game since joining the team on loan from FC Porto.

Awaziem was handed his second straight start by coach Claudio Ranieri, but he only lasted 37 minutes on the pitch after he was sent off for a poorly timed tackle.

The defender whose disciplinary record isn’t the best in terms of picking up cautions was however not missed as his team hanged on to claim their first win of the season.

Last season Awaziem picked up 15 yellow cards in the Portuguese division 2, where he starred for Porto B. The red card against Troyes is also the second time he has seen red in his short career.

His first red card was shown to him last season when Porto B lost 1-3 to Freamunde on the 28 of August 2016, which is close to a year now‎.
