Coach of the Super Eagles of Gernot Rohr has confirmed the invitation of Kano Pillars legend Rabiu Ali to the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie against Cameroon in September.
Nigeria will take on Cameroon in back to back World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie on the 1st and 4th of September in Uyo and Yaoundé respectively, a tie which could potential decide the leadership of the group.
Cameroon are currently second behind group B leaders Nigeria who are on six points , four points more than Cameroon in the race to be at the World Cup 2018 in Russia, and Rohr who is yet to release his squad for the games has confirmed the invitation of Ali.
“He helped his CHAN squad to sealed a qualification and he scored a winning goal for his club side the next day, a goal that sealed them victory. He has all the quality of a player I want to work with at the national team that’s why I invite him, I’m confident in him and he will deliver”, Rohr said in Kano.
