Former goalkeeper and captain of the senior national team of Nigeria Vincent Enyeama who is back in training with French Ligue 1 side Lille has hinted about a possible return to the first team when they take on Marseille this weekend.
Enyeama was axed alongside ten others by new coach of Lille Marcelo Bielsa, but the Nigerian is back in training with the team after recovering from a knee surgery in the summer.
Lille have struggled to replace the 35 year old in goal as they have conceded 14 goals in nine matches this season with only six points picked, a poor run of form that also means they are 19th on the 20 team table.
The two goalkeepers brought into the team to replace Enyeama, Kouakou Herve Koffi and Mike Maignan who was Enyeama’s understudy last season have all failed to impress in his absence.
A post on Enyeama’s official twitter handle @Vinpee suggest he could be back in action this weekend for the big game against Marseille at their home ground the Stade Pierre-Mauroy ” Weekend seems closer”, he posted alongside a video of himself doing some shooting drills.
