Nantes of France defender Chidozie Awaziem who is on loan from Portuguese giants FC Porto has confirmed his invitation to the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of their upcoming friendly games next March.

Nigeria will take on Serbia and later Poland as part of their preparations for the World Cup and the 21 year old who is back to full fitness after missing the last three weeks with an ankle injury is in the squad for the game.

Awaziem is highly rated by the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr, and despite a shaky display in his first match for Nigeria, a game they lost 0-2 to South Africa. The coach still retains his faith in him.
