Super Eagles deputy captain Ogenyi Onazi had a memorable outing for his Turkish side Trabzonspor as they claw their way back to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Akhisar Belediye Genclik Ve Spor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Onazi who has struggled to get games this season since the turn of the year was handed a rare start, and the Nigerian didn’t disappoint as he put up a commendable shift in the middle for his team.
He was involved in breaking up plays and setting up attacks, with his abilities to cover enough grounds at both ends of the pitch giving his team the needed coverage in defence, and an option in attack.
25 year old Onazi saw a proposed move to English Championship side Birmingham City fell through due to work permit issues, and since then he has been impressive when he has been given the chance to play.
The former Lazio ace has made 16 appearances this season with a goal to his name, but there is presently no way he is going to match his last season tally of 36 appearances in the league, although he need just a goal to equal his scoring total for last season.
