The senior national team of Nigeria were handed their first defeat of the year by Serbia after losing 0-2 in a pre World Cup friendly game played at Barnet stadium, The Hive.

Serbia had the ball in the back of the net in the first half when Aleksandar Mitrovic headed home a poorly defended ball inside the Super Eagles box, but the goal was incorrectly ruled out for offside.

Super Eagles of Nigeria failed to create any meaningful chance in the first half which ended 0-0, but seven minutes after the hour mark Serbia took the lead.

Ten minutes before the end of the game, Mitrovic was once again left unmarked in the box, and from yet again another cross, the big man grabbed his brace of the tie to put his team two goals up.
