Former Nigeria league top scorer who now works as a television pundit has described the performance of Junior Lokosa against Congo DR as not good enough for him ‎to break into the Eagles squad for the World Cup.

Lokosa is presently the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with 18 goals in just 21 games this season and his form earned him a spot in Nigeria’s provisional list for the World Cup in Russia.

He was handed his debut in yesterday’s friendly game which ended 1-1 against Congo DR ‎and Ezeji while speaking on his performance said he didn’t do enough to force the coach to include him in the World Cup squad to Russia.

” Lokosa didn’t do badly but he didn’t do anything spectacular to show he deserve a spot in the team to the World Cup. As the top scorer in the league I expect him to wow us and that in turn will help his case, sadly he didn’t do that”, Ezeji said during the game.

Ezeji was however full of praise for Crotone forward Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo popularly referred to as Simy and urged coach Gernot Rohr to include him in his squad for the World Cup.

” If I am Gernot Rohr I will no doubt include him in my squad. He is a top man, something most team need in attack, Simy should be in the squad for the World Cup “, Ezeji concluded.
