The Super Eagles training session watched by Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent in Russia ahead of their game against Croatia on Saturday saw some players distinguishing themselves with strong displays.
Captain of the team Mikel Obi was his usual using his guile and guts to receive ball in tight spaces and also freeing himself before releasing pin point passes to the players in his team.
Ahmed Musa benefitted from his fine display with the forward finding the back of the net after an over the top pass from Mikel. Musa left Elderson Echiejile in his wake before finishing smartly for his goal.
Bar the action which led to his goal, he was very lively particularly in helping out his team in defending as he track back severally to ease the pressure on right full back Tyronne Ebuehi.
As expected Wilfred Ndidi covered almost every space during the session. A sign of how well he has recovered from the knock he suffered before the end of the English Premier League season.
Ndidi was very instrumental in helping Mikel express himself properly as he covered up the spaces left behind by the captain when they push forward in attack. Simply put, his energy level was way beyond the rest of his teammates.
Alex Iwobi is slowly becoming the best passer of the ball in the team with his abilities to locate his teammates even when he is under pressure during the session. He didn’t misplace a single pass during the session and his quick feet was also one area of his game which he displayed yesterday.
