English Premier League side Liverpool have stepped up their interest in Nigerian wing forward Moses Simon who currently plays for Belgium side Gent, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Talks are well advanced between both clubs with Simon who missed out on selection for the Nigerian team to the World Cup due to injury back in Belgium as the move draws near.
Left with a year to run on his current deal with Gent, the speedy winger is available for a cut price fee of €13m, a price Liverpool are trying to negotiate by possibly sending Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi on loan to Gent.
Awoniyi scored 11 goals for modest Belgium side Mouscron last season and even though he is due to sign a contract extension at Liverpool, the club still want him to spen a season on loan to a team preferably in the Europa League.
Owngoalnigeria.com gathered that he will likely be part of the deal for Simon as Gent are also keen on acquiring him with the likes of Anderlecht and Club Brugge also intrested in having the 20 year old on loan for next season.
