Nigerian midfielder Mikel Agu is set for talks with Portuguese side FC Porto after the completion of his loan deal at Turkish side Bursaspor ‎, where he spent the entirety of last season.

Agu was among the players who were out on loan from the club listed by coach Sergio Conceicao ‎for a look in when the team groups for pre season training ahead of the start of next season.

However, the midfielder who was dropped from Nigeria’s final World Cup squad for the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup after ‎making the provisional list of 30 players has demanded talks with the coach before committing his future to the Portuguese giants.

Since joining Porto in 2013, the 24 year old is yet to stamp his authority in the first team of the club and has made it clear that he won’t be joining another team on loan after a not too happy experience in Turkey last season with Bursaspor.

At Bursaspor he was giving limited game time towards the end of the season as the club didn’t view him as a part of the future plans because of his loan dead, which has no option for them to make it permanent.

If he is to stay at Porto, he will want assurances on his first team chances as he want to cement a spot in the senior national team of Nigeria, where he is a bit part player, no thanks to the options available to coach of the team Gernot Rohr.
