Chisom Chikatara Cancels Contract With Wydad Casablanca, Joins French Side Chateauroux

Former Abia Warriors striker Chisom Chikatara will in the coming days leave Moroccan outfit Wydad Casablanca after agreeing to mutual terminate his contract with the club, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively report.

Chikatara has failed to settle down in Morocco since joining the team in 2016 after starring for Nigeria at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda even though Nigeria crashed out in the group stage.

The 23 year old has struggled to get sufficient game time with the CAF Champions League ‎winners although he played six times in their run to lifting the competition with a goal to his name as well.

His game tally of just 12 league appearances with a a goal led to talks of a possible departure from the club and an agreement has been reached for his contract to be terminated on mutual ground.

The contract termination will take place later this week and he will join French second division side Chateauroux, who were 9th in the French second division last season, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
