Jamilu Collins will get another chance with the senior national team of Nigeria when they regroup for their next competitive fixture against Libya in October according to coach of the team Gernot Rohr.
Collins missed the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers game against Seychelles after failing a late fitness test but recovered to play in yesterday’s test game against Liberia which Nigeria won 2-1.
The Paderborn left full back appears to have impressed the Franco-German coach as he was listed among the several new faces who will add competition to the team, when the other regular players in the team are available.
” The new players in the team did well in training and also the ones who played in the game against Seychelles were also very good and for our team it is good to have competition. When we regroup in October we will see them against the regular players “, Rohr said.
” Collins, Ajayi and Kalu all did well and we will continue to monitor their progress with their club before the next game. Collins looks interesting in training and we will like to have him around again”.
