Nigeria international Moses Simon scored his first goal for Spanish La Liga side Levante in his first game for the team but ended up on the losing side as they slumped to a 2-6 defeat against Sevilla.
Simon performed excellently well for Levante in pre season games but an injury picked up on the eve of their league opener delayed his debut until today and he showed the fans a bit of what to expect from him in subsequent games.
Introduced with 15 minutes left to play, the Nigerian raced on to a through ball and beat the goalkeeper with a low finish which came off Simon Kjaer before nestling in the net as a consolation goal for Levante in the heavy loss.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com after the game, the forward said the style which he celebrated the goal is a sign of dedication to his new born daughter and his wife.
” Not a good way to lose in a game, where you score your first goal in your first game . However I’m dedicating it to my daughter and my wife, they have been magnificent in every aspect of my life”, Simon said.
