A chance to impress the national U20 handlers of the Nigerian team has been granted to 18 year old striker Etiosa Ighodaro following his exploits at a youth tournament in Italy, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Ighodaro who is the younger brother to one cap Super Eagles forward Osaguona scored nine goals at the prestigious Viareggio Tournament in Italy and expectedly caught the interest of scouts from top European teams.
It was the second time the forward has impressed at the tournament as two years ago he also scored six goals for Football Academy Abuja at the same tournament. The fact that he bettered his feat this time around showed his consistency in front of goal.
Blessed with the attributes of typical forwards from Nigeria, he is blessed with amazing pace, strength, aggression and ability to finish off moves in a composed fashion and he shoots well with both feet aside his aerial ability.
Coach Paul Aigbogun is open to the idea of having new strikers in his team as the one he presently have in his team didn’t quite convinced him during the qualifiers for the African Youth Championship, something he hope to improve on if Ighodaro impresses during trials.
