Nigeria are facing a battle to win the international service of QPR midfielder Ebere Eze after the 20 year old was called up to the U20 team of England for the first time ahead of their upcoming games against Italy and the Czech Republic.
Eze trained and even played for the Nigerian team in a test game organised for players of the team during their training camp in London but since then he has not been called up to the senior national team of Nigeria.
His form at English Championship side QPR this season has made him a target for several English Premier League teams, but he was once again snubbed by coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr when the squad for the double header against Libya was released.
Keen on representing Nigeria according to sources close to the midfielder, England have now moved a step forward towards winning his loyalty after handing him his first call up earlier today although at U20 level.
He is still eligible for Nigeria but with Coach Gareth Southgate of the senior national team of England handing debuts to young promising players, he could be tempted to wait for his time with the senior team rather than opt for Nigeria.
