Super Eagles Training – Samuel Kalu, Moses Simon, Ighalo, Ola Aina & Isaac Success Lead Top Performers


The first training session of the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their upcoming AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against Libya saw some impressive displays by some players.

Loading... witnessed the training session and our correspondent selects the five players who were outstanding during the session which was held at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium for a little over an hour.

Samuel Kalu – He was magical with the ball at his feet and the timing and weight of his passes also caught the eyes. Scored twice and his usage of ball in tight spaces made him stood out when the pitch was halved.

Moses Simon – The Levante forward showed how badly he was missed during the World Cup in Russia with a performance mixed with defending and also attacking. His quick step overs left several of his markers in their wake. Looks really impressive.

Odion Ighalo – Viewed by many as the weak link in the squad, the Chanchung Yatai forward scored five well taken goals with one of his strikes drawing him applause from the technical crew judging by how sweetly he caught a cross with a volley which left Francis Uzoho stranded in goal.

Ola Aina – Sharpness is an understatement when one want to describe his display in today’s training. He was not just comfortable on the ball, he also won possession with ease and looked like he didn’t miss a single tackle for the entirety of the session.

Isaac Success – Strong, skillful and quick. His ability to score from range saw him score a screamer and the way he got involved mirrored the form that has seen him regain his position in the matchday squad of Watford.
