Odion Ighalo might not be the name many Nigerians want to see in the starting line up tomorrow against Libya but according to coach Gernot Rohr the Chanchung Yatai forward is likely to start.
Ighalo has been sensational in training in the build up to the game and even though Isaac Success has done well, Rohr has given reasons why Ighalo who had a poor world cup campaign with Nigeria will start ahead of Success, who has been capped just once.
Rohr also took out time to explain the reasons behind the invitation of Ighalo who has 20 goals in 25 games this season in China in the first place during the course of yesterday’s pre match conference.
“We don’t have the time in three, four days to change our offensive formation, but we invited (Isaac) Success, who plays in the same position . The problem is that in four days, will he find an understanding with the other players?”, Rohr said yesterday.
“He had a World Cup which was not so easy for him. But he’s doing well with his club, he has more than 20 goals for his club, and that is why we invited him again.”
