The unfortunate injury to Bursaspor of Turkey defender Shehu Abdullahi has opened the door for Lokomotiv Moscow of Russia defender Bryan Idowu to make the matchday squad of Nigeria for tomorrow’s game against Libya.
Idowu was the regular left back for the Super Eagles in the build up to the World Cup and during the tournament proper and he continued in same role in their first competitive post World Cup game against Seychelles.
However the emergence of Paderborn defender Jamilu Collins who was impressive in his first competitive game for Nigeria over the weekend in the 4-0 win over Libya saw Idowu missed out of the matchday squad.
He will however return back to the team as one of the full backs on the bench as the injury to Abdullahi means Ola Aina will start against Libya tomorrow leaving the team with no full back on the bench.
