Identical Line Up, Same 4-2-3-1 But Different Application – How Rohr Want Eagles To Approach Today’s Game

Coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr has released his list of players for today’s game against Libya as they aim to secure their spot in next year Africa Cup of Nations which will take place in Cameroon, reports.

Rohr has lined up his players in same way like the first tie against Libya for today’s tie with Ola Aina who replaced Shehu Abdullahi starting for the injured Bursaspor of Turkey ace.

They will play same 4-2-3-1 formation like they did in the 4-0 win over same opponent at the weekend but this time around the players have been given specific instructions on how to approach the tie.

The duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo will play a lot deeper than they did in the tie last weekend with Alex Iwobi the farthest of the trio in the number ten role.

However Iwobi will play close to the players on the wing in Samuel Kalu and Ahmed Musa who are also expected to put in a shift defensively to give the team balance as the full backs won’t be as adventurous as they were on Saturday.

Top striker Odion Ighalo and centre defence duo of William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun are the only players who were not given a different task from what they were asked to do last weekend.

Although the duo of Ekong and Balogun have been mandated to defend deep and not play a high line like they did over the weekend in the comprehensive 4-0 win.
