Loading... rates the players on show for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Francis Uzoho – Improved on his long range kicks but fumbled a weak long shot and also misjudged a simple cross which could easily have created a chance for Libya. His poor punch exposed the back line but he stood big to deny Libya with a brave save. Could do nothing about the goals scored by Libya….. 6/10

Ola Aina – Good and confident on the ball with his near perfect tackling ability helping him in keeping his man in check but was guilty of poor positioning and ball watching for the goal scored by Libya and switched off terribly for the second goal conceded by Nigeria….. 4/10

Jamilu Collins – Once again he brought balance to the defence with his reading and interception of passes easing the pressure off the back four. Beaten easily in a one on one situation due to his casual marking bar that had another good outing….. 7/10

Leon Balogun – A much better performance from the Brighton and Hove Albion defender. Carried the ball out of defence with confidence and this time around he didn’t give his man space but should probably have done better for the second goal conceded by the Eagles….. 6.5/10

William TroostEkong – Solid as ever with his partnership with Balogun slowly becoming one of the strong asset of this team but his poor positioning and timing of the ball that led to Libya’s second goal blotted his performance sheet….. 6/10

Oghenekaro Etebo – Played a lot deeper and linked up well with Alex Iwobi in the middle. Disappered in the second half and deservedly hooked for John Ogu….. 5/10

Wilfred Ndidi – Sat in front of the defence and mopped up dangers with ease. Also brought the other midfielders into the game with simple but precise passes. Got himself needlessly booked but overall did okay….. 7/10

Alex Iwobi – Found Ahmed Musa with a well timed pass from where Musa set Odion Ighalo up for the Nigeria’s first goal. Twice decided to shot when a pass would have been better. Still the most creative in the Nigerian team….. 6/10

Ahmed Musa – Unselfishly played Ighalo in for the opening goal even though he looked well placed to score. Powered his way through the defence of Libya with ease for his goal. Was his usual lively self contributing in defence and attack….. 7/10

Samuel Kalu – A bit in a hurry to release the ball and that led to several mishit crosses. Tired out early and should have been substituted a lot earlier than when he was hooked out….. 5/10

Odion Ighalo – Did well to stay on side for the opening goal and once again showed his abilities in the box with his runs behind the defence of Libya . Took his third goal brilliantly to kill the rise of the Libyans. Certainly the man of the match….. 8.5 /10

John Ogu – His introduction with scores at 2-2 helped Nigeria to regain control of the midfield. Won and broke up play with ease. Should have been introduced earlier….. 6/10

Henry Onyekuru – Lively and pacy. His decision making in the final third let him down but he did add a different dimension to the attack of the Eagles upon his introduction….. 5/10
