Exclusive – NFF Bars Super Eagles Newbie Chukwueze From Playing For Flying Eagles


The Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) says Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze won’t representing Nigeria at U20 level following his invitation to the senior national team of Nigeria, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.


Chukwueze scored his first professional goal for Villarreal yesterday in their 3-3 draw against Almeria in the Copa Del Rey just two days after he was officially invited to the senior national team of Nigeria by coach Gernot Rohr.

19 year old Chukwueze tops the list of players coach Paul Aigbogun had in mind to beef up his U20 team for their challenge at the U20 Cup of Nations in Niger Republic, but he has been told to leave the Villarreal rave of the moment out of his team by the NFF.

A chieftain of the NFF confirmed to Owngoalnigeria.com that the plan is to blood Chukwueze into the senior national team via the U23s and not through the U20s since he has already progressed to the Super Eagles.

” Chukwueze won’t be a part of the U20s for the U20 AFCON. The plan is to have him in the Super Eagles and the Olympic team. No point calling him to the U20 as he will somehow hinder the discovery of other talents. Beside he has played at that level before”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat.
