Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has taken out time to explain what he thinks newly invited forward Samuel Chukwueze will add to the Super Eagles after his elevation to the first team of Villarreal.
Chukwueze was called up to the senior national team of Nigeria for the first time since representing Nigeria at U17 and 20 level after a month of constant involvement with Villarreal in the Europa League and Copa Del Rey.
Yesterday he made his La Liga bow for the team and performed admirably well and was rated as the best player on the pitch for his team in the 1-1 draw against Levante, a game which he played till the end.
Rohr was subsequently quizzed by Owngoalnigeria.com on what he thinks the left footed ace will add to the Super Eagles and the coach revealed some of the qualities that made him call him up for the upcoming games against South Africa and Uganda later this month.
“Chukwueze has a good left foot, is quick, has a low centre of gravity – which gives him a very good balance – and can deliver and score, we need a player like him to give us balance in attack and he can also play through the middle”, the German coach said.
