Udinese and Nigeria international defender William Troost-Ekong made the Sofascore team of the week in the Italian Serie A after his strong performance for Udinese despite their 1-2 loss to Empoli.
Ekong was on from start to finish as part of the three center defenders in Udinese’s 3-5-2 formation and he came out top with his tackles and clearance the main highlight of his performance.
He was selected alongside Napoli Kalidou Koulibaly in central defence in the team of the week released by Sofascore after the latest round of games in the Italian Serie A.
Since joining Udinese from Turkish side Bursaspor, the form of Ekong has improved from his time at Turkey mostly due to the fact that he has been a regular at the Serie A side since his first game for the team.
Strong in the air and uncompromising in tackles, the one area of his game which is still a concern is his confidence on the ball and his movements off the ball is also suspect although most times his bails him out.
