Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr says the paper work for the switch of allegiance of England youth team duo of Ademola Lookman and Seyi Ojo is under way base on his directive to the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) .
Lookman as widely reported has agreed to switch allegiance to Nigeria despite his present status as a youth international while Ojo openly voiced his willingness to represent Nigeria after playing for England at various youth levels.
Rohr said the duo are part of his plans for the Super Eagles in the nearest future and he has instructed the NFF to begin the documentation of their switch of allegiance since the beginning of October.
” I already asked the NFF to start the process of making both Lookman and Ojo to be able to play for the Super Eagles a month ago”, the coach told Segun Ogunjimi of the print version of Nigeria’s foremost sports publication Sportinglife.
However Everton forward Lookman and Ojo who is on loan to French Ligue 1 side Reims are still not close to represent Nigeria according to the Secretary General of the NFF.
” We are still looking at the modalities. We will discuss with the coach to know what to do next. We have not gone far on the issue”, Mohammed Sanusi was quoted as saying by sportinglife.
