Omeruo has played in the last five games of Leganes in the build up to the Super Eagles resumption for camping for their upcoming AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against South Africa and many expected him to push to displace Balogun.
The duo of Ekong and Balogun have formed a formidable partnership in the heart of the defence for Nigeria and their combination was nicknamed ‘Oyibo Wall ” and base on today’s training session, they are in line to continue their partnership against South Africa.
Rohr paired the duo in today’s session and also had them in the defensive drills done by the team during today’s session which was held at the mainbowl of the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
