On loan Chelsea defender Ola Aina will likely miss out on a starting spot in the Super Eagles line up for tomorrow’s clash, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal base on what we gathered from their last training session earlier today.
Coach Gernot Rohr experimented with three central defenders with in-form Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo coming in as part of the back three during today’s training session in Johannesburg.
Omeruo is on a season long loan from Chelsea to Leganes and his performance has earned him praises particularly in their last five games just before resuming for international duty with the Super Eagles.
Although Aina is also doing very well at Torino, the decision to go for Omeruo was due to his ability to function properly as a centre back unlike Aina who is more comfortable as a full back or wing back.
From today’s session Omeruo will likely play alongside Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong as back three barring any last minute change of mind from the technical crew of the Super Eagles.
