The team the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has in mind is 70% done ahead of their campaign at next year Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Rohr has been at the helm for two years and he has so far pioneered the team to qualification for the World Cup which was held in Russia and also next year Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking at an interactive session with journalist, the coach said although his team still rank as a young team, he believe he has 70% of what he need to make them a better team.
He went further to list the area of the team which is in dire need of improvements and it includes the top striker’s position, a creative midfielder as well as more options in the goalkeeping department.
“My Super Eagles team is 70% complete. We still need to improve in goalkeeping and defensive and striking areas. “We are open to bring more players to the team before the AFCON,there are so many players around the world. We have to give them the chance to play for the National team”, Rohr said at a parley with media men in Lagos.
“John Ogu is strong and powerful, Oghenekaro Etebo is with Stoke City , he is young & he must improve. In the attack, we’re happy that Odion Ighalo is back to his normal goalscoring form but we are still searching for other options for the Super Eagles”.
