Bournemouth Gives Reasons Why Nigeria U20 Midfielder Ofoborh Won’t Be Released For WAFU Championship

English Premier League outfit Bournemouth have communicated back to the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) over the availability of 19 year old Nigerian midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh for the WAFU Championship.

Ofoborh made his debut for the Nigeria U20 team when they took on Egypt in a friendly game and the coaches requested to have him in their team ahead of their campaign in the U20 WAFU Championship.

According to the club they will release him to participate for Nigeria at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations but not for the regional tournament next month due to first team commitments.

Bournemouth replied the NFF by saying Ofoborh won’t be able to participate in the tournament in Benin Republic as it coincides with the programme of the first team which he is expected to be a part of as they prepare him for a permanent spot in the first team.

This season he has made the bench for the first team on three different occasions and all came in their three games in the EFL Cup ‎where they defeated MK Dons 3:0 before edging a five goal thriller 3-2 against Blackburn Rovers which was followed by a 2-1 win over Norwich City.
