Fresh from scoring his first goal of the season, Hertha Berlin defender Jordan Torunarigha has says he could yet play for the senior national team of Nigeria despite turning down the first approach from Nigeria.
In what was his fifth appearance of the season, the 21 year old set his team on the path to a 2-0 win over Hannover 96 with the first goal for his team one minute before the half time break.
Established as a junior international for Germany, he was asked by popular German based Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba if he believe he stand a better chance of playing for Nigeria in the future.
In a post shared on his twitter handle at @Omaakatugba, Akatugba said the defender responded by saying he could maybe play for Nigeria but refused to explain why he turned down the first approach from Nigeria.
Me: Jordan, don’t you think you stand a better chance playing for Nigeria?
me: Why did you then turn down Nigeria?
Jordan: (laughs ) I don’t want to answer that question.
