The first choice goalkeeper of the senior national team of Nigeria Francis Uzoho is back in training with Spanish second division side Elche after missing their last three games due to injury.
Uzoho was badly injured in Elche’s heavy 1-5 defeat away to Cadiz hence missed the last three league games against Las Palmas, Alcorcorn and Albacete respectively.
In his absence they failed to win any of their three games with his replacement Jose Juan keeping just one clean sheet which came in the 0-0 draw against Las Palmas as they lost to Alcorcorn and Albacete by a lone goal respectively.
20 year old Uzoho was already the first choice of the club where he is on loan from Deportivo La Coruna since his clean sheet heroics against Malaga which he followed up with another clean sheet against Real Zaragoza before the 1-5 thumping in the hands of Cadiz.
Coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr who made Uzoho first choice has revealed why he believes he is still in the search for a better goalkeeper even though Uzoho is on the rise and getting a proper education at Elche.
“Our goalkeeper is still young and needs more experience. You cannot be perfect in this area at the young age, but he is working hard everyday to improve”, Rohr stated.
