The Minister for Youths and Sports in Nigeria Solomon Dalung failed to provide a definite answer when asked if it’s true that the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) are yet to receive any form of financial support from his ministry.
Dalung responded to a twitter post by popular Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana who tagged the official twitter handle of the President of Nigeria Muhammed Buhari with a query about the lack of financial support the NFF have received from the ministry since Dalung assumed office.
Osasu’s post which started the debate with the minister was his reaction to a post by the president of Nigeria congratulating the Super Falcons for lifting the Africa Women Cup Of Nations trophy for the 9th time.
Rather than provide a definite answer on if the NFF have received any sort of funding since the start of the year, the red beret wearing minister tried to swing the discussion by tagging Osasu as a crisis entrepreneur who want to stir up controversy at a time when the nation is celebrating the victory of the Nigeria Women team at the African Women Cup Of Nations.
Reports has it that Amaju Pinnick led NFF have so far prosecuted all games involving the various arms of the national team of Nigeria from funds sourced by the federation despite having a budget appropriated to them in the budget of Nigeria.
