Super Eagles Invitee Blessing Eleke Increases Goal Count In Switzerland

22 year old Nigerian forward Blessing Eleke scored twice to increase his goal count to nine this season for Swiss side FC Luzern to help them edge a five goal thriller 3-2 away to Grasshopper.


Eleke opened scoring for his team to put them one goal up two minutes into the game amd he was also on hand to net a late winner for his team with ten minutes left to play in the game.

The brace took his season tally to nine goals in 17 games this season with seven coming in the league and two in the cup so far in his his first season in Switzerland following his move from Israeli side MS Ashdod in the summer.

He was invited to the Nigerian team for the game against Seychelles but was placed on standby for the tie which Nigeria won 2-0 but he wasn’t listed for the back to back qualifiers against Libya and the subsequent 0-0 draw against South Africa which sealed their spot at next year Africa Cup of Nations.
