They are both 20 years old from Nigeria and after their exploits at two different edition of the U17 World Youth Championship they have landed in Portugal from English teams, no doubt the career trajectory of Musa Yahaya and that of Kelechi Nwakali is very similar.
The duo are presently on the books of the B team of Portuguese giants FC Porto with Nwakali on a season long loan deal from Arsenal, while Yahaya is two years into a five year deal signed two summers ago with team but both of them are yet to make an appearance for the first team.
At Porto B Yahaya has been transformed into a right wing-back who is occasionally deployed as a right back in some games while Nwakali has played as a winger but most of his games have come from a central midfield position.
Yahaya recently returned from a one month injury lay off while Nwakali is working his way back into the starting line up after impressing in last weekend draw against Coimbra, where he played for just nine minutes but almost scored with a well taken free kick which came off the bar.
Nwakali has played 7 games this season while Yahaya has played in 5 games and unconfirmed reports has it that he is set for another spell on the sideline after copping an injury on the game against Mafra two weeks ago.
Overall they have both failed to make same impact like Chidozie Awaziem did three seasons ago which led to his promotion to the first team. Musa is already pushing for a loan move in January while Nwakali recent form could see him stay at the club beyond January as oppossed to rumours of a termination of his loan deal by Arsenal due to lack of playing time.
