Mikel Agu ended up on the losing side despite scoring his first goal for his loan side Vitoria Setubal as they crash to a 1-3 loss to Portimonense in a Portuguese Liga game.
Agu was on for his 8th start of the season and with his team trailing the host 0-3 he pulled a goal back in the 60th minute to bring scores to 1-3, a scoreline they fail to build on in the remaining 30 minutes of the game.
Despite the defeat Vitoria Setubal are still one spot ahead of Portimonense who are in 10th position although both teams are levelled on Same points after 13 round of games.
On his part Agu who is on loan from Porto has turned out in nine games in all competitions after the frustration of failing to earn a spot in the first team of FC Porto few days into pre season training.
Last season he was on loan to Turkish side Bursaspor and he played in 23 games but it still wasn’t good enough to earn him a spot in the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
