Perugia are facing a real test from Dutch side NAC Breda in their bid to loan Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar who is back at Roma after an unhappy spell in Scotland with Rangers.
72 hours ago Perugia were firmly in the driving seat to loan him till the end of the season but all of that changed in the last 48 hours following the interest of NAC Breda, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.
During his time with the Dutch side he scored five goals in 12 games to help the team beat the drop to the Dutch second division, partly why he was signed by the club in the first place.
Sadiq was suppose to visit Perugia yesterday for a routine medical ahead of a proposed move which was supposed to be made official in ten days time but all that has been placed on halt.
Despite not having the best of time in Scotland with Rangers, the 21 year old has received offers from seven teams with Perugia leading the race to sign him but a decision won’t be rushed and it’s partly why he won’t be coming home early for the new year break.
