Kenneth Omeruo Booked As Leganes Slump To Defeat In First Game Of 2018


Nigeria international defender Kenneth Omeruo was on from start to finish for his loan side Leganes who were beaten 1-0 away at Espanyol in a La Liga round of‎ 18 game.


The Nigerian was playing in his 12th league game of the season since his loan move to the club from Chelsea ‎in the summer and he gave a good account of himself bar when he got cautioned for a foul on the touch line.

Omeruo was beaten for pace by Pablo Piatti in the 72nd minute and with the forward partly through the Nigerian fouled him to stop what would have been a counter attack for the home side.

Aside when he got booked the Nigerian showed composure on the ball and timed his tackles and interceptions to perfection in the game which his team ended with ten men following the sending off of Gerard Gumbau in the first minute of time added on after regulation time.
