Exclusive – Villarreal Trigger Contract Extension Clause On Chukwueze, Tied Till 2023

The true contract situation of Villarreal rave of the moment Samuel Chukwueze has been revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com by one of the representatives of the 19 year old who has emerged as the most talked about teenager in Spanish football.

Contrary to what is been widely reported Chukwueze’s deal at the Spanish side will run till the summer of 2023 as the club secured him on a long contract in the summer, which replaced the initial two year deal he was given when he first joined the club.

His buy out clause in his initial deal was €5m but the Spanish side has since renegotiated it to the sum of €40m, a fee they now want to adjust to suit his current market value following his exploits with the first team in the La Liga this season.

A fee in the region of €80m has been proposed by Villarreal who are also willing to give him a pay rise to make him more comfortable at the club where his rise from the B team to the first team has been phenomenal.

Although Villarreal are still open to his possible departure in the summer following interest from teams in England, the idea they are primarily chasing is to extend his buy out clause to help them maximize profit, something the representatives of Chukwueze are yet to accept.
